Diversity matters
We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.
We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!
The role
The Environmental Intelligence and Reporting Lead provides global consolidation, reporting, and analysis of Lush’s environmental impacts in a way that inspires action, supports decision-making at board level, and ultimately steers Lush towards its goal of leaving the world Lusher than we found it and continuing to lead the market when it comes to sustainability and regeneration.
This role will be expected to use data and reporting as a key driver of change, helping the business prioritise time and financial resources in interventions that will deliver rapid decarbonisation, a carbon positive supply chain, and equip staff with the information they need to improve their practices towards our environmental goals.
To this role, you will bring great technical skills and the ability to deal with complex sets of data combined with the capacity to communicate our non-financial impact, inside and outside the business, in accessible and clear language.
You will work closely with the Environmental, Group Finance, and Business Intelligence teams reporting to the Environmental Board and Finance Leadership. You will work in tandem with our Supply Chain Impact Analyst to create a full picture of Lush’s impact on the world. You will lead this function of the business in service of other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Report on Lush’s global environmental impact, assess data gaps, and track progress in relation to our targets
Global consolidation of an environmental management system with completeness, consistency, and transparency for Lush Group
Oversee onboarding markets onto the relevant software to centralise reporting on water, waste, energy, and carbon emissions
Utilise the information gathered to improve the overall quality of climate-related financial disclosures in Lush’s annual accounts.
Embed non-financial data in current financial reporting to reflect the whole-system health of the business
Assess the materiality of Lush’s operational impacts and communicate key priority areas the business should focus on
Set global KPIs and reporting according to standards like GHG Protocol, GRI, TCFD, SBTi AWS (Water), and Tru Zero Waste, and incorporate this into external reporting avenues
Organise and project manage 3rd party audits to verify our environmental performance
Develop the capacity of key stakeholders in markets to understand, compile and report on non-financial data
Deliver intelligence and insights in a timely and effective manner through the use of dashboards, business reports, infographics, and/or presentations for the benefit of leadership teams and appropriate decision-making groups at Lush, to further drive change
Participate in wider industry conferences, research, discussions, and initiatives where appropriate to assist in the development of Lush’s own expertise and ensure that best practice methodologies are adopted
What you will bring with you:
A Degree in Finance, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a similar STEM discipline
5 years of experience in environmental management systems and/or financial and non-financial reporting
Excellent analytical and data analysis skills
Show flexibility to take on challenges outside of your comfort zone
Excellent organisational and communication skills, strong people skills, and ability to build good relationships
Experience with SBTi, GHG protocol, and other reporting initiatives will be a plus
Knowledge of alternative and holistic reporting frameworks like Natural Step, Economy of the Common Good, and Integrated Reporting is a bonus
