The team: To complete our team, we are looking for you as a Financial Controller (m/w/d) for our Headquarters in the heart of Berlin, working with an international team. LUSH Germany has currently 37 shops and around 450 employees.

Your main tasks:

• You are responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow results and forecast (according to HGB and UK-GAAP). This will include variance analysis and detailed commentary
• You are responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and Group reporting under UK-GAAP
• You control the budget and forecasting process and coordinate this in conjunction with our retail and other support teams
• Working alongside our finance analyst, you are responsible for overseeing the creation and ongoing distribution of reports for the operational management of the business. These include but are not limited to:
  • Sales (daily, weekly and monthly)
  • Business Drivers
  • Staff cost
  • Stock and COGs
• You promote the development of the commercial understanding of our shop managers
• You lead the annual audit in close cooperation with the accounting department and our external auditor
• You are ultimately responsible for leading, developing, training, and resourcing the finance team to ensure the business gets the information it needs at the right time
• You will be responsible for continuous improvement in all financial processes and relevant systems

Skills and experience:

• You have a business degree with a focus on “Finance & Controlling” (BWL) or equivalent and relevant professional qualifications
• You have 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting and controlling, preferably in a retail environment
• You have a proven record of leading a team and experience in a position of management responsibility
• You are a real Excel professional and are otherwise open to new tools and technologies
• You have a strong hands-on mentality to ensure tasks are completed to the highest standard, think commercially, and do not lose sight of the bigger picture
• You have the flexibility to work in a reactive and ever-changing business environment, thriving on the opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a leadership team that are pushing the German retail business forward
• You are an excellent communicator who is able to articulate a view and effect change within a collective group environment
• Fluent in both German and English
