Job Summary Verifies, keeps records on incoming receiving and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, moves material from operation to operation via manual methods, drive forklift. Ensures operators have material/components and packaging supplies in a timely basis by performing the following duties: Job Duties • Operates manual pallet jack, industrial forklift truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products from both trucks and equipment. Review WIP labels and or finished goods label for next operation (remove old tags or labels from returnable dunnage. Operate in a safe manner.
Receives, checks quantities skids both coming in and going out. • Assist with production and inventory on all work centers as requested. • Participates in proactive team efforts and shares knowledge/skills to achieve departmental and company goals. • Support and comply with all Master Automatic company/safety standard operating procedures.
Reports all safety hazards to supervisor and/or manager, Human Resource Department. • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures • Perform other duties as assigned Experience and Education Perform work under direct supervision Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff Possess working knowledge of subject matter Typically require a high school diploma or equivalent and 0 to 2 years of experience Must possess valid driver’s license Prior forklift and shipping experience preferred Note: if assigned to raw material area or back-up for raw material area will need an added crane permit Competencies/ Skills Basic computer operation. Ability to enter data (numbers) and simple notes. Ability to read, comprehend and apply simple to complex instructions.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide positive and negative whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to add and subtract positive and negative numbers up to 5 decimal places. Basic knowledge of gages. Ability to read and interpret gages.
Ability to communicate verbally and written. Attention to detail. Able to obtain requirements for a forklift permit and crane permit required by assigned area. Able to plan and pre-stage activities through shift.
