We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with government experience to support a large government organisation within Auckland, a great opportunity to utilise your experience supporting the communities impacted by extreme weather events.

Day To Day Responsibilities

• Provide direction and leadership, setting clear strategies, outcomes, and milestones.
• Establish and facilitate effective governance for the workstream.
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify vulnerable populations and implement initial strategies to address specific accommodation needs, understanding that sustained efforts may require future initiatives.
• Facilitate community engagement initiatives, providing residents with information on available coordination services and laying the foundation for ongoing community awareness.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify opportunities for enabling development that align with long-term community needs.

About You

You will be someone who works well at pace and in a constant changing environment. You will have strategic relationship management across government and community sector to address the unique challenges of the community as well as:

• 5+ years in roles related to emergency management, community development, project management or social services
• Project or Programme management experience.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural competence in working with individuals and families facing displacement.
• Resilience – a demonstrated ability to persevere through periods of heavy workload and stressful situations.
