Salary: Based on qualification, skills and experience the range is between $60,000 – $80,000

Te mahi tūranga – About the role

There are two practitioner roles available, one based on South Auckland and the other in West Auckland. Use principles of holistic therapeutic interventions and a cultural approach as a base for clinical practice. A key focus will be completing clinical assessments and delivering interventions to minimise the long-term physical, mental, spiritual, social and economic impacts of alcohol and other drug use.

South Auckland Service – Work with a team to enhance the lives of Rangatahi and their whānau. The Practitioner will be responsible for clinical oversight and management of a specific treatment programme for Rangatahi. 

West Auckland Service – Work with a team to enhance the lives of Pakeke and their whānau. The Practitioner will be responsible for clinical management and delivery of a specific treatment interventions. 

Ngā pūkenga, ngā tohu ōu – What you will need

• Minimum of at least 3 year’s experience working as a Drug and Alcohol practitioner or similar role
• Understanding or willingness to learn Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga Māori
• Excellent engagement, communication and motivational enhancement skills
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development and addiction challenges
• Experience working with behaviour change models
• Experience working with harm reduction strategies

Me toka pūmau ēnei – Applicants MUST have

• Minimum of a Level 7 Diploma in Alcohol and Drug Counselling or other recognized equivalent
• Current registration with DAPAANZ as an alcohol and other drug practitioner
• A clean and full NZ driver licence 
• Required to consent and undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Clean criminal convictions history and police record.
• Full Covid-19 Vaccination
