Job Description:
The Role: Coding Apprentice
The Opportunity:
MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Coding Apprentice to join our team! Located at the beautiful Hathaway building in Waterville, this position will assist with accurately capturing diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure accurate reimbursement for services are provided.
This is not a remote position. This position is on site in Waterville, ME.
The Work:
Assists with reconciling patient lists/census/discharge reports to track that complete and accurate documentation and charges are obtained for each service rendered
Reports back to providers and/or administrators regarding missing or incomplete information
Accurately data enters CPT and ICD10 codes into clinical information systems based on codes received from others
Reviews uncomplicated visit documentation from 1-2 outpatient areas to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes
Uses coding guidelines and clinics to assign and sequence appropriate codes for uncomplicated outpatient visits for 1-2 outpatient areas in clinical information systems, including the assignment of appropriate modifiers as necessary
You Have:
