Manatt’s Inc Hiring for Field Mechanic $26.00/hr. – $37.00/hr. at Newton Full Time

The success Manatts, Inc., enjoys today in the construction industry started more than 70 years ago. Back then, it was one man, one truck, and now our team of employees numbers more than 750 strong. We have dozens of ready-mix and asphalt production facilities around the state of Iowa. Our massive fleet of dump and ready-mix trucks serves thousands of job sites every year. In addition, our concrete and asphalt paving divisions, along with our various other crews, complete hundreds of projects every season.

Our Newton Asphalt Division has an immediate opening for a Field Mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.

  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.

  • Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.

  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.

  • Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.

  • Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.

  • Keep logs of work and report on issues.

    Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants must possess and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of major truck components, diesel engine diagnostics, hydraulic and electrical systems, and preventative maintenance

  • Class B CDL preferred – willing to help obtain after hired

  • Must have own tools

  • Must have acceptable driving record

  • Strong communication, analytical and basic computer skills required

  • Ability to use manufacturer’s computer software to diagnose and repair electronic systems necessary

  • Work some overtime on an as needed basis
