High quality, evidenced based care is the hallmark of our service and we pride ourselves in delivering excellent quality of care along with as positive an experience for families as possible. We provide a cutting edge service and this is your opportunity to influence the experience of infants and families by contributing to the education, training and leadership of a strong and dedicated workforce, role modelling positive behaviors, supporting the team to deliver the highest standards of safe and effective care. This post is pivotal within the unit nursing structure.
The post holder should be highly motivated and committed to evidence-based practice and service development within Newborn Services and will co-ordinate an existing team of motivated practice educators as a quality role, taking responsibility for the in-service development of all nursing (registered, pre-registration and non-registered) professionals working within the Newborn Services MCS.
As a senior nurse for practice education you will be working with the senior team, to ensure that neonatal practice is of a high standard and that the education provided for professionals ensures that they are competent to look after the infants across the service with varying levels of dependency. This is an opportunity to teach and develop Newborn Services professionals ranging from those who are newly graduated to highly skilled and experienced nurses (registered), pre-registration and non-registered staff.
In addition, you will have specialist clinical leadership and management skills and the knowledge to support the organisation in the delivery of the highest quality of care. This will involve both the provision of direct care to infants at all levels of dependency and, on a rota basis, co-ordination of the Unit to ensure that patient flow is maintained and capacity is optimised across the MCS. You will lead by example, role modelling positive values and behaviors.
