Primary Location: 1611 S Main St, Dayton, OH, USDivision: Cox EnterprisesJob Level: Individual ContributorTravel: NoSchedule: Full-timeShift: Day JobRequisition Number: 202103693Specialty Publications & Community Coordinator60 % – The Specialty Publications and Community Engagement Coordinator will create content for and also manage the acquisition of community and partner-submitted content for Dayton Daily News, Skywrighter and other publications as required. They will write articles that appear in the Skywrighter as well as advertising publications such as Homes Plus and Wheels.40 % – They will manage community submitted content for community pages in the three publications – ensuring content is delivered on time, editing and delivering it to the print and digital systems. They will report to the Managing Editor – Lifestyle and Community Engagement.Responsibilities:Experience in digital story telling, including experience in visual, data and digital story creation.Will report and write articles as appropriate for existing and future advertising and partner publications i.e. Skywrighter, Wheels and Homes Plus.Demonstrates versatility in writing approaches and story forms.Will manage the output of freelancers and contributors – working with them to teach story quality and standards as required.Has full understanding of standards of libel and slander.Will deliver content that is impactful and thorough which contributes to success of our effort to maintain and grow subscribers.Handles other assignments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree preferredCan work independently with little or no supervisionAt least three years experience at daily newspaper and/or digital journalismKnowledge of digital publishing tools or the demonstrated ability to learn those used by Ohio NewspapersHas knowledge and ability to train others.Requirements may change over time depending on technology and company priorities.Who We AreAbout Cox We are the Cox family of businesses.
