Maple & Stone Looking for Timber Joinery Estimator at Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand Full Time

Maple & Stone is one of NZ’s fastest growing joinery firms. With a reputation for quality results and effective large scale project deliverables we are now looking for another team member to join our successful .

We are on the lookout for a junior/intermediate level Estimator/Quantity Surveyor . This busy role is at the heart of our operations and plays a key role in contributing to enable the overall success of Maple & Stone. 

As such, you will need to bring a high level of technical skill, a strong work ethic, and the ability to build good working relationships. You will be passionate about working as part of a team to deliver quality outcomes and ensure a fantastic experience for every one of our valued customers.

Responsibilities for the role will include: 

• Provide cost planning, tender reviews and cost reporting on construction projects. 
• Tender evaluations, pricing/measurement.
• Liaising with designers, and contractors to ensure projects cost is being managed and within budget. 
• Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders presenting progress on projects.
• Creating and managing pricing database 
• Providing a strong support function to our sales team, site managers and production administration
• General QS related tasks 

To be successful you must have: 

• Tertiary qualification related to quantity surveying and/or construction. 
• Previous quantity surveying experience either within a contractor environment is preferable. 
• Commercial construction experience. 
• Contacts with commercial subcontractors is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written 
• Complete comfort interfacing and managing all stakeholders including, contractors and consultancy partners.
