Marlborough District Council Looking for Secondary School Student Worker at Blenheim, Marlborough Full Time

Marlborough District Council has an opportunity for two Year 10 or 11 secondary school students to come and assist the Support Services Team after school with various day to day tasks. These tasks include:

• Monitoring photocopy paper supplies and distribute accordingly
• Assisting the Council with its recycling programme
• Stocking equipment as required
• Monitoring secure destruction bins
• Regularly checking that emergency equipment is adequate
• Maintaining meeting rooms to ensure that they are and have the required supplies
• Assisting the Collating Office when required
• Any other related tasks that will be required within the Support Services Team.

This role requires a person with following attributes:

• Excellent communication and time management skills
• A good level of initiative
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to make decisions
• Can take ownership of allocated tasks
• Knowledge of general administration practices
• Be physically fit as some heavy lifting is required.

The successful students will be required to work from 3.30pm to 5.00pm, 1 to 2 days per week on a regular basis. Other days may become available on an “as and when required” basis.
