Job Description
Position will be responsible for the leadership of overall strategies for manufacturing engineering and optimization at BMC. Responsible for evaluating current capacity, marketing & sales growth trends, manufacturing capabilities, capital projects and footprint optimization to ensure the strategic growth of Brasscraft manufacturing while maintaining alignment with the overall business strategy and focusing on simplification and cost optimization. The position will report to the Director of Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the manufacturing engineering team
Lead all efforts relative to footprint optimization and simplification analysis as it relates to business expansion, new product growth, and consolidation efforts to maximize manufacturing performance
Work with manufacturing sites to identify and support cost savings initiatives to meet TCP
Identify capacity gaps which impact ability to support customer demand
Identify excess capacity / redundancy and support strategic analysis to determine future state / location of that capacity with cost reduction priority
Support VSM roadmap activity at manufacturing sites
Support the annual standard cost reviews, BOM and routing activities
Work extensively with project teams to ensure alignment, ownership and commitment to critical timeline milestones and financial accountability to budget
Oversee the overall financial analysis and justification for capex submissions and support all needed supplemental information as requested, including submission thru agile point system and alignment with BMC FP&A
Work collaboratively with product management, sales and technical manufacturing project leads to ensure overall product and sales strategy aligns with manufacturing optimization strategy
Support products team relative to NPD and existing product growth
Support the procurement of equipment/services per capex based on clearly defined project scope
Work with plant locations to define all aspects of resource installation to ensure proper support
Responsible for tracking KPIs on CAPEX commitments to ensure committed return on investment based on payback, production targets, etc.
General Requirements:
B.S. Industrial Engineering or similar
5 years of work experience
Experience in manufacturing or operations environment with deep understanding of supply chain, operation concepts and capacity utilization
Project management experience leading multiple cross-functional teams through complex projects and new processes
Must be detail oriented with great communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate across all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills, able to analyze vast amounts of data and experience building capacity models
Able to work through ambiguity and pivot as needed
Experience building CAPEX strategies including capacity analysis and business cases with justification
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PPT, and Project
Ability to travel 50-60%
Experience with equipment validation and run off
Preferred:
Masters in Business Administration
Experience in the rough plumbing industry, products, and trends
Bilingual – Fluent in English and Spanish
Experience with JDE, Stratum, STEP/PIM, Agile Point
Overall understanding and experience of rough plumbing industry market, trends, competitors, customers, and macroeconomic indicators
Experience with costing and standards
