The Role

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a central role in the production and proactive maintenance of software, data and machine learning solutions at Max Kelsen. You will draw upon your expertise as a cloud engineer and software engineer to define scalable, observable, manageable, and self-healing solutions. You will leverage your skills across cloud / DevOps engineering, cloud infrastructure architecture and software engineering to solve complex, varied and exciting technical challenges. This role works closely with software engineers, machine learning engineers, and project managers to deliver meaningful business outcomes for Max Kelsen’s customers, and for our own products.

Duties and responsibilities

• Cloud infrastructure architecture to support Max Kelsen’s software and machine learning solutions
• Implementation, testing and management of Infrastructure as Code of cloud-based solutions that may include CI/CD, data integrations, APIs, web and mobile apps, and ML solutions
• Build and maintain centralised self-service platform (re-usable IAC modules & CI/CD pipelines) to enable other engineering teams
• Defining and implementing scalable, observable, manageable, and self-healing cloud-based solutions across AWS and Google Cloud

Required skills

• Proven experience as a cloud engineer and software engineer within either/or professional services or product engineering organisations
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions. GCP and/or AWS certifications are a benefit
• Experience building infrastructure as code with tools such as Terraform (preferred), Cloud Formation, Pulumi, AWS CDK, CDKTF, etc
• Experience building backend APIs and/or integrations with languages such as Python (preferred), Go, C#, Node.js, etc
• Practitioner experience with Kubernetes through services like GKE or EKS is a benefit
• Ability to work closely with internal and customer teams
