Position description
Produces high quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments. Requires competence, as determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging equipment and technology. Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients. Fosters teamwork through effective communication. Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines. Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times and lengths. Perform other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited sonography or radiography program. Organized, efficient and multifunctional. Ability to work independently. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication. Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
Additional qualifications
Ultrasound Sonographer experience preferred.
License or certification
ARDMS or ARRT certified in Sonography
ARDMS Certification in Vascular Technology Imaging within 6 months of hire. Abdomen and OB/GYN must also be completed within 24 months of hire. Employees that provide breast imaging will be required to get certification in that subspecialty within 24 months of achieved competency.
Appropriate state licensure from the state in which the candidate practices (if the state requires licensure).

Rotating every third Saturday and Sunday 7:00AM-7:30PM
Other shifts include combination of 8 and 10 hour shifts, typically 7AM-5:30PM, 8AM-6:30PM, or 8AM – 4:30PM
Opportunity to pick up extra shifts if desired
Some rotations to other sites in region, including Eastridge Breast Center
Occasional overnights and second shifts, as needed
Rotating holidays, approximately one per year
Weekend schedule
Rotating every third Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
