Mazars in the U.S. is hiring!
Our Tax practice is looking for accomplished Tax Managers with Real Estate and Private Equity tax compliance expertise, to join our Real Estate Services Tax team. As a Tax Manager you will utilize your technical expertise to provide sophisticated tax compliance and tax consulting/advisory services to partnerships, corporations, and other flow through entities in the private equity and real estate industry. You will collaborate with and assist in the professional development of other tax staff, and participate in client proposals and new business development opportunities with firm leadership.

Our service offerings are customized to meet and exceed the requirements of the real estate investor ranging from the individual real estate owner through the large global institutional investors. Our extensive knowledge of the real estate industry allows our clients to maximize the value of their real estate holdings.
The preferred location for the positions is our New York office. However, the positions can take place in any of our Mazars U.S. office locations. Our firm also offers remote working.

What You Will Do
Essential Duties:

• Provide a review of partnership and corporate tax returns for real estate, private equity and emerging businesses
• Lead execution of client tax engagements, including planning, budget, scheduling, billing and collections
• Supervise, review and evaluate the tax work completed by other tax staff, and assist with their professional development
• Draft memoranda on real estate issues identified that impact clients’ business
• Research tax issues impacting clients’ tax planning projects, and provide effective resolutions that achieve client objectives
• Use technical expertise to provide suggestions that improve efficiencies within clients’ tax structure
• Develop and sustain strong client relationships
• Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS and other tax authorities, and represent clients at any potential tax audits
• Participate in client proposal and new business development opportunities
• Remain current on latest tax practices and changes in tax laws, and how they may impact clients’ business

What We Seek
Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Business-related field
• An advanced tax degree (MST, JD, LLM) is a plus
• CPA or EA designation is required
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience gained working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm or a tax consulting practice
• Prior tax compliance experience with corporate tax returns, flow through entities, multi-state and individual tax returns
• Relevant tax experience with real estate, private equity or emerging businesses
• Prior tax experience with REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts)
• Strong tax research skills and tax technical skills
• Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite tools
• Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and other tax software technology
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to travel to client locations when required
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
