McCain Food’s facility in Appleton Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 500 employees. This site specializes in the production of jalapeño poppers and other appetizers. Fun Fact: the jalapeño popper was trademarked at this site!

Position Summary:
The Veggie Prep Operator is an entry-level Machine Operator role with McCain Foods! The candidate in this role must be able to be flexible as they will be responsible for operating machinery that requires both operating and troubleshooting equipment. When not operating the equipment the candidate will be responsible for production work, inspecting product, and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Setting up the line safely and ensuring that the proper processing equipment is in place
2. Communicate with support personnel and maintenance any equipment malfunctions or design deficiencies and perform light maintenance duties of the production/ process equipment
3. Performing pre-operation checks of equipment for safe and proper set-up, ensuring all guards are functional and in place
4. Maintain supply of raw materials to the line throughout the shift
5. Accurately record material usage in production
6. Maintain and complete all daily line reports
7. Maintain line appearance in accordance with established GMP’s and policies
8. Line work, pepper placing, and product inspection
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 6 months manufacturing experience is a PLUS! But willing to train.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral as well as read and interpret schedules related to production/ product schedules and line changeovers.
Physical Demand:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds!
Constant: use and movement of hands and standing on regularly scheduled shift.
Frequently: Bending, grasping of hands, and reaching for up to 3 -6 hours daily.
Occasionally: Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist, pushing and pulling for up to 3 hours a day.
