It is an exciting time to join the McConnell Dowell Whānau as we continue to secure complex projects across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

We have an exciting new opportunity for Working Foreperson to join our high performing project team working on the Snells to Warworkth Transfer Pipeline advance works.

The project is a component of the Warkworth to Snells Transfer Pipeline scheme, which conveys wastewater from Warkworth to Snells Beach.

This includes construction of a new 247 l/s Wastewater Pump Station located adjacent to the existing Lilburn Street Pump Station in Lucy Moore Memorial Park.

About the role:

• Daily organisation of the construction team, ensuring productivity, program targets and HSEQ standards are met
• Running daily pre-starts and weekly Tool Box Talks
• Monitoring JSEAs and working sessions with teams to review and improve
• Maintaining good relationships with subcontractors
• Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained and kept in safe working order
• Ensuring bulk material orders are in lace weekly and daily
• Maintaining a good daily diary of work events
• Attending weekly briefings and progress meetings with Section leads / Construction Manager
• Ensuring works are undertaken in accordance with ITPs

About you:

• Proven experience in construction site works relating to piling, welding, and rigging
• Experience in effectively supervising construction crew and subcontractors
• Solid knowledge of HS&E and focused on safety and care, with a good safety record
• Trade qualifications relevant to the construction industry
• Previous experience in sheet piles, driven piles, and bored piles
• Dogman / Rigger experience
• Work at Height and man cage experience
• Welding & Drilling experience an advantage
• Mechanical knowledge of vibro-hammers, impact hammers etc.
• Self-motivated and driven to meet targets and schedules
• Team Player
• Experience and understanding of scheduling and programming
