Position Description
Under the direction of the Vice President for Professional Services, the Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for providing leadership and direction, as well as for daily clinical operations of rehabilitation services; ensuring delivery of high quality cost effective patient care that enhances patient, staff and physician satisfaction. Serves as the principle non-physician operational and clinical manager, responsible for all aspects of the department, to include clinical operations, quality assurance/performance improvement, budgetary and human resource activities. Responsible for achieving outcomes consistent with the organization mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of patient flow/access, treatment issues, coordination of ancillary services, oversight of medical records, and enhancement of patient support and service improvement. Works closely with the VP for Professional Services to integrate the clinical, operational, financial and family-centered care environment for patients across the entire transplant continuum. Performs a safe, patient and professional and effective manner.
Position Requirements
BA or BS in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology and a Master’s Degree in a related field or in administration. Five to seven years of a combination of clinical and managerial experience in a rehabilitation service, preferably in a university based teaching institution with a strong pediatric program. Demonstrated accomplishments in the rehabilitation service planning and implementation, clinical and service quality improvement, patient/family centered care and financial performance improvement. Must be licensed in a related profession in the State of Georgia.
