Software Validation Technician

Systems Engineering Manager

Summary

Creates and executes software regression tests. Works directly with Software Developers and Application Engineers to identify, assess, manage and close software application issues. Maintains software validation-related tools.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Run standardized software tests on a target systems and record failures with detailed steps to replicate.
• Assist in the determination of root cause of certain software failures and work with appropriate personnel to resolve.
• Understand and use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems.
• Assist other departments in various tasks on an as-needed basis.
• Participate in various meetings as appropriate.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

High school diploma; and at least two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, engineers and operators.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills

Good understanding and ability to apply basic mathematics including percentages, proportions, ratios, and fractions to practical situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic Microsoft PC skills including Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. Familiarity with smartphone / tablet operating systems (Android, iOS) is recommended but not required.
