? Our structure

For us, a chapter refers to a group of individuals who share the same skill set or expertise. It’s a form of horizontal structuring where individuals from different teams come together based on their roles. The primary purposes of chapters include knowledge sharing, career development and providing thought leadership. Our chapters consist of a handful people and are not very specialised yet.

? Responsibilities: Your role will be multi-faceted, comprising people leadership and technical responsibilities.

1. People Leadership (20%): Nurture talent within our engineering group through coaching, mentoring, and continuous feedback. You’ll play a pivotal role in career growth, performance feedback, conflict resolution, and team building, as well as driving recruitment and maintaining a strong employer brand.
2. Software Design and Development (50%): Play a vital role in all stages of our software development process, from design and development to maintenance, deployment, quality assurance, and support. Your contributions will focus on software development, quality assurance, identifying areas of software process improvement and risk analysis, and ensuring top-quality technical solutions.
3. Product Discovery and Delivery (20%): Partner with our product and design teams, discovering customer needs and crafting solutions for real-life customer and business problems. Your work will help us understand and influence the product and technical roadmaps.
4. Ways of Working (10%): Enhance our agile and lean approaches, facilitating team workshops and promoting continuous improvement in the ways we work together.

Success in this role

You’ll be successful in this role when your chapter members grow their skills, take on more challenging tasks and contribute to our business goals. We would also like to see you facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge between chapter members. Your people would hear feedback (positive and constructive) often and would have an effective relationship with you. A successful chapter lead would promote healthy collaboration not only within the chapter but also between different chapters and teams.

✨ Skills and Competencies: We’re seeking someone with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset. Your experience with modern software engineering practices and product and design thinking will be valued. Additionally, your ability to engage stakeholders, manage relationships, and contribute constructively to technical and product discussions will be key to your success.

? Qualifications and Experience: You should ideally possess a qualification in IT, computer science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience. We’re looking for a minimum of 5 years experience in the software or quality engineering field and 2 years’ experience in people leadership. Knowledge of coding practices, API design, quality assurance practices and automated testing tools is required, together with familiarity with change management, feedback and performance frameworks.
