Technical Co-ordinator (6-month contract)

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the studio are in order, including studio set, equipment and all necessaries are in order to ensure a smooth production of news & current affairs programmes for CNA and all news bulletins transmission on Mediacorp channels.
• Assist Automation Directors on all responsibilities for the execution of daily news bulletins and current affairs programmes for both automated and traditional galleries
• Liaise with Producers, Automation Directors and Graphic Designers to meet technical and operational requirements during live transmission
• Liaise with Producers, Automation Director and all production stakeholders to ensure that editorial intentions are met and highest production standards maintained. You’ll be equipped with the right skills and new and developing tools to deliver high quality production.
• Provide creative and technical expertise in regard to the preparation of the studio floor and studio control room for the production of live programs and pre-recordings.
• A high level of multiskilling is required and knowledge of areas such as robotic cameras, handheld cameras, jib, vision switching, EVS playout, operate news automation software, outside video and audio sources set up in the control room, technical and lighting set up as well as other essential studio equipment is needed.
• Ensure all work practices, including studio cleanliness and WSH guideline are met.
• Uphold and maintain News and Current Affairs programme quality by performing regular checks, reviewing feedback and identifying areas for improvement necessary

Key requirements

• Minimum a Nitec/ Higher Nitec in Video Production/ Diploma in Electronic/Electrical/Audio Engineering or its equivalent
• Must be able to adapt to changes easily, allow for flexibility with the schedule, and have strong attention to detail
• A demonstrated ability work without supervision in a high pressure environment is essential
• Experience with studio production with a strong understanding of studio equipment include switchers and audio board will be an added advantage
• Good organizational and project management skills are necessary
• A good team player and must be willing to work nights, on irregular shift including weekends and public holidays
• Proficiency in the English language and at least one other language, Chinese, Tamil or Malay is an added advantage to be able to understand the languages of the program.

Those with more years of relevant experience can be considered for a senior role.
