Mediterranean Shipping Company is searching for the right candidate to join our Charleston office. The successful candidate is in charge with maintaining the accounting records for the company, and with a variety of accounting reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains an accurate record of financial transactions.
• Updates and maintains the general ledger.
• Performs the reconciliation of entries into the accounting system.
• Records of debits and credits in MSC proprietary system.
• Maintains the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers
• Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions
• Uses knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements
• Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 experience in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Accounts Receivables or Accounts Payables processing
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Understanding of accounting best practices
• Knowledge of IFRS, U.S GAAP, or another accounting framework
• High attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
