This position has the responsibility and authority todevelop strategies, create and perform Usability Validation activities for devices and systems to ensure Medtronics cutting edge medical products meet our usability goals, our users needs, and our quality and reliability standards. This position requires application of detail-oriented focus and strong active communication skills to evaluate ENT device users experience with devices in development and relay the experience to development team and regulatory agencies as required.

Test Engineer II

A Day in the Life

This position has the responsibility for executing testing strategies for hardware and systems to ensure Medtronics cutting-edge medical products meet our users needs and our quality and reliability standards.You will work with senior test engineers to create test fixtures and perform verification validation testing activities for ENT products. This position requires application of technical skills to determine and develop approaches to solve complex technical problems with ingenuity and creativity.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Perform verification and validation testing activities on medical device hardware and systems projects.

• Plan and conduct design verification testing, including writing protocols, designing test fixtures, executing testing, and writing reports documenting results.

• Create project specific test strategies and approaches compliant with applicable standards such as ISO 14971 and IEC 62366.

• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements and best practices for product and usability validation.

• Represent test engineering in all phases of product development as needed such as reviewing requirements, design, usability, risk assessment and defects.

• Contribute to department wide test strategies and process improvements

• Participate in defect tracking and analysis.

• Effectively communicate findings, problems and solutions to project teams and stakeholders.

• Collaborate and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and stakeholders.

• All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.

• Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.

• All other duties as assigned.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a technical field required

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

• Experience in test engineering for medical device development.

• Experience in medical device usability regulatory standards and requirements.

• Experience in executing design verification test protocols and reports.

• Experience in writing design verification protocols and reports.

• Ability to integrate creative skills with innovative problem-solving techniques to develop test methods.

• Dynamic team player, with a proven ability to integrate into and influence multidisciplinary teams.

• Good communicator and have strong oral and written technical communication skills.
