Medway Public Health Programmes Team includes partnership commissioning – these are the roles that seek to improve joint outcomes between Health and the Local Authority in Medway. We are now looking for a Programme Lead to join the team and lead on the commissioning of services to improve school inclusion and outcomes for school aged children.
Partnership Commissioning is looking for a motivated individual with extensive partnership working and commissioning experience. The postholder will work with partners across Medway to ensure our commissioned education services take a whole school approach and are providing the earliest interventions to improve outcomes for children. As such they will need the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and also have the credibility and capability to work collaboratively with clinical staff.
The Partnership Commissioning team are a forward thinking and experienced service that coordinate a wide portfolio of projects for Medway Council and Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group including children’s’ emotional wellbeing and mental health, children’s community and acute care, as well as universal public health children’s services. The postholder will work alongside the programme leads for these areas too.
The successful applicant will report to the service manager (Head of Public Health Programmes) and proactively manage current commissioned contracts and procurement of new services. As the lead for Education Commissioning, they will work closely with the AD for Education and SEND and their leadership team to address the education and SEND priorities including improving inclusion in schools and improved outcomes for school aged children especially those with special education and disability needs. They will be expected to work in partnership with education settings, providers, other agencies, and strategic networks.
This may include undertaking practice research, assessment of need and demand, data and financial analysis and arranging/coordinating patient/service user and provider engagement activity where required.
