Merama is seeking to become the best and largest online group of brands Latin America. Our business model is to
partner with the leading merchants across Latin America (currently they are focused on Mexico, Brazil, Argentina,
Peru and Chile) and with our team, capital, and technology to fuel additional hypergrowth. Unlike the dozens of
Amazon aggregators that have popped up over the past few years, Merama is solely focused on Latin America, works
with very few partners, and does not purchase companies outright. Instead, they are focused on identifying the top
few companies in certain major categories and selectively partnering with the best by purchasing a stake in their
business. Our company was founded 6 months ago by a group of entrepreneurs and former consultants, marketers,
logistics professionals and e-commerce experts. We recently announced our Series A fundraise of 160M USD and we
seek to change the E-commerce landscape in LATAM.
Our Team
The Tech Team is in charge of creating, supporting, and giving solutions to develop a tech stack of off-the-shelf and
proprietary tools to accelerate and support our brand’s growth. Ultimately, the Tech team (including you) is
responsible for developing highly customized solutions for our brands. The Tech Team does a wide variety of work
including but not limited to build and maintain a robust tech development. The team is collaborative, hands-on, we

Role for You
You are a tech related e-commerce expert/leader, who is responsible for managing a high-performance team of Tech.
Expert in complex development projects with alternative paths, multiple stakeholders and clear deadlines
Main Responsibilities
- Lead Merama’s technology and data architecture vision, roadmap and global team
- Ensure Merama develops a tech stack of off-the-shelf and proprietary tools to accelerate and support our
brand’s growth
- Build and maintain a robust tech development roadmap based on careful discovery of our brands’ needs
- Hire and lead a team of talented, multidisciplinary tech professionals
- Interface between top management for strategic discussions and engineering functions to prioritize key
developments and ensure timely delivery
- Stay on top of new developments in e-commerce and tech and use this to update our roadmap and
evangelize internally within Merama and to our brands
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on development and managerial experience in tech related to e-commerce/marketplace
and/or data engineering
- Assessing and leading complex development projects with alternative paths (make or buy options), multiple
stakeholders and strict deadlines
- Experience hiring (via strong personal network) and leading technical teams of 10+ people across diverse
profiles (engineering, product, back/front-end, data)
- Ability in taking a strategic view, crafting and executing on a full tech strategy to support the business
- Deep working knowledge of current technologies: Python, data engineering, cloud architecture and
infrastructure, database languages, web scraping
- Working specifically with leading marketplaces in LatAm: MercadoLibre, Amazon, Magazine Luisa, B2W,
Falabella etc a strong plus

- Advanced working knowledge of Spanish and English at minimum – Portuguese a plus.
