How your role will add to the story:

The position is responsible for the planning and reporting function for wholesale cost budget and investment planning for the entire company. As well as assisting the corporate controller in business case scenarios for potential new investment projects for the company. The documentation of vehicle pricing maintenance in SAP for all Mercedes-Benz Passenger Vehicles. You will report directly to Controller, Corporate Planning.

A day in the life:

• Represent the company with a high level of professionalism and courtesy. Follow company standards of personal presentation; and adhere to all Mercedes-Benz Canada and Daimler policies including compliance, and integrity standards. Comply with local, provincial and federal laws including those governing the rules of the road, and health and safety
• Budget planning and controlling (Overheads and headcounts for head office functions as well as investment for entire MB Canada)
• Act as an advisor to department managers in formulating their overhead budgets
• Examine whether budget submissions can be achieved based on known targets and inform Controller of potential risks and opportunities.
• Consolidate and report actual to budgeted results at the end of each month, and provide commentary on any significant variances
• Coordinate vehicle and option pricing for MB Cars and smart (process coordination, price documentation in planning and invoicing system)
• Ensure applicable accounting and systems processes are in full compliance to the internal controls of the company’s financial results
• Participate in financial system performance initiatives including business change modifications, upgrades and implementations
• Maintain the reporting structure within SAP for all department overhead budgets

Coordination and execution of month end closing process.

Mercedes-Benz Fan skills, requirements & traits:

• University Degree in Business Management. Preferably Data / Finance / Accounting
• 3+ years of Analytical experience especially in the field of Digital Reporting. Preferably within the automotive industry
• Advanced skills in data visualization software (Tableau / Power BI) and proficiency with Excel and databases
• Proficient Knowledge and understanding of the implications of key financial indicators and controls and assessing impact of financial information.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical information in succinct manner
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and proficiency with Online Analytical Processing
• Knowledge of data analytics/ predictive analysis would be an asset
• Experience in data modelling would be an asset
• Understanding of automotive KPI’s would be an asset
• Excellent analytical, research, problem solving and detail-orientation skills
• Exceptional organization and time management skills
• Project management skills and understanding of scrum/agile methodologies are an asset
• Ability to work cross-functionally and build partnerships
