We are seeking a full time Junior Software Engineer to join our team based in Wollongong. You will be part of a team that creates high quality solutions. You will need to be resourceful, innovative and collaborative as you learn and develop changes to meet our customers’ needs.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Creating and unit test efficient solutions to meet functional requirements

• Identifying, recommending and developing code improvements for current systems.

• Supporting incident resolution when systems do not behave as expected

• Supporting problem management by suggesting efficient and potentially innovative solutions

• Supporting the technical direction provided by Senior Software Engineers and the Development Team Lead

• Responding to and resolving technical alerts for systems as required

• Providing clear and timely feedback to customers about their systems’ operation as required

• Ensuring that stakeholders are aware of changes, any issues and their impacts

• Liaising with Business Systems Analysts regarding requirements and feedback impacts and suggestions

• Liaising with other technical experts, including Database Administrators, Development Operations Engineers and Network Engineers, to deliver collaborative outcomes

• Supporting the change management process by providing accurate and timely documentation

• Ad-hoc duties as delegated by the Team Leader

We would like you to have:

• Tertiary Qualification in Computer Science, or related study

• Experience the industry will be highly regarded

• One or more compiled languages, such as C#

• One or more interpreted languages, such as Python

• One or more source control systems, such as git

• Troubleshooting capability

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Willingness to learn

• Capable of working in a team environment
