Data driven decision making is a strategic imperative across the company and this role will be critical to realizing that vision. As part of the Animal Health (AH) IT Technology team focused on architecture and cross-functional service delivery, this position will be responsible for the AH IT Data and Analytics team at the center of a division-wide DnA Community of Practice. The DnA CoP includes members from AH IT Value teams and their business partners. The DnA team will serve the community, delivering foundational capabilities including data architecture, data science services, visualization engineering and agile portfolio prosecution.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of data, data science and visualization architect and engineering professionals
Actively coach the team and nurture an environment where team members can develop their skills and grow their careers.
Ensure the right organization design and team are in place to deliver against plans.
Serve the team by dealing with impediments and empowering decision making at the right levels.
Manage multiple resources and projects concurrently to ensure commitments are met.
Provide accurate work estimates and oversee delivery against budget.
Ensure strong operational processes are in place to deliver across all areas of responsibility.
Lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of an enterprise data lake strategy on the cloud.
Evangelize the value of data and analytics services.
Collaborate effectively with AH IT Value and Enterprise Architecture teams to optimize the reuse of assets, return on investment and total cost of ownership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
10 + years’ experience in data and analytics architecture, engineering, and delivery.
5 + years’ experience in team leadership within the analytics space.
2 + years of experience with cloud technologies and enterprise data lakes.
Experienced in Agile.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in implementing DnA op models that enable the business to be data driven.
AWS certification a plus.
