The Biotransformation & Distribution group within Preclinical Development (PCD) at our company’s West Point is seeking an exceptional LC-MS Bioanalyst to contribute to the understanding of PK properties of novel therapeutic drug candidates across modalities (small molecules, peptides, large molecules including ADCs, oligonucleotides). The ideal candidate should be a self-driven and creative thinker that wants to develop and implement innovative bioanalytical approaches using the latest technology in support of our Company’s pipeline dedicated to developing novel therapeutic agents. Through close collaboration with a cross-functional team of talented scientists, the responsibilities of the position include:

• Independently designing and executing LC-MS methods to characterize therapeutic proteins, peptides, small molecule and oligonucleotide drug candidates using LC-MS based platforms with an emphasis in high resolution (HRMS) mass spectrometers.
• Developing sample preparation methods ranging from protein precipitation and solid phase extraction to immunoaffinity enrichment with automated platforms such as Bravo AssayMAP and Hamilton liquid handlers.
• Optimizing LC-MS conditions on a variety of high-resolution instruments for biotransformation and metabolite identification.
• Effectively analyzing and interpreting results through a range of software including Skyline, Analyst, MassLynx, Genedata Expressionist, Phoenix and Watson.
• Delivering high quality data to project teams.
• Effectively documenting, tracking and communicating scientific findings within cross-functional teams.
• Representing and leading cross functional teams.
• Contributing to and maintaining lab operations.

Required Experience & Skill Set:

• Strong hands-on experience with different chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry methodologies for analysis of therapeutic proteins, biomarkers, or small molecules.
• Experience using LC-MS-compatible sample preparation methods for large molecules such as immunoprecipitation, solid phase extraction, enzymatic digestion and fractionation.
• Ability to work efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment is a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fosters team-based approach to research. Committed to working synergistically and harmoniously with others.
• Must be willing to work with ionizing radiation (3H, 14C, 35S).

Preferred Experience & Skill Set:

• Proficiency in one of the following languages or software packages: Python, Javascript, Matlab, R script.
• Experience with a variety of HRMS platforms and vendor data analysis tools.
• Experience characterizing intact monoclonal antibodies using HRMS.
• Experience with proteomics, biochemistry methods, and analysis of post-translational modifications of large therapeutic proteins.

Education Requirements:
Doctorate degree by August 2022 OR
Master’s degree & 4 years of scientific experience OR
Bachelor’s degree & 6-7 years of scientific experience
Preferred degrees include analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or organic chemistry.
