This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up hub built within a major multinational with the goal to build a world class data platform / data mesh network for the division.
The Team:
The Data Platform team at our Animal Health Intelligence division of our company (MAHI) provides the development, support, and roadmap for the advanced analytics data platform. The team’s area of responsibilities is the capture, ingestion, transformation, storage, architecture, implementation of ML models and end user consumption end points such as self-service and APIs. The platform provides deep analytical insights for reporting and development of products for the market to aid in animal traceability, monitoring, well-being, actions, and other features based on descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
About the Role:
Working at the cutting edge of the Animal Health Intelligence division of our company (MAHI), we seek a self-motivated, well communicative, experienced Technical Program Manager to join our fast-growing team. As a Technical Program Manager on the Data Platform team, you will be at the leading edge of integrating a complex set of existing and new data sources generated from ioT devices, internal and external data into our rapidly evolving data pipeline.
You will work closely with engineering, ML Ops, data science, technical and business stakeholders, data generators, consumers, and foundational teams to drive the programs around such activities such as Data Catalog, Master Data Management, Data Mesh Strategies, Data Capture, Data Infrastructure, Machine Learning Platform, Real-time Streaming Platform, Feature Flags and Rollouts, Metrics Repositories, Data Compliance, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data modeling and BI.
These will require a strong technical understanding, general cross organization coordination/facilitation, stakeholder management, and ownership of results. The position will be a hybrid position or even remote for the right candidate.

Overall – Help expand the vision, technical direction, strategy and success metrics for the data platform and infrastructure.
Planning & Execution – Drive optimizations related to planning objectives and key results, develop frameworks for team execution/tracking and provide visibility to resource allocation and prioritization.
Stakeholder Management – Manage expectations for all stakeholders from leadership to individuals, possess strong problem solving and negotiation skills, and earn trust of partners and teams.
Technical – Develop a full understanding of our technical stack and processes, allowing you to contribute to designs and ensure they are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
Team Building – Understand technical personnel and enjoy working with them, building trust by developing strong technical domain knowledge that adds value beyond specific program duties.
Communications – Manage timely and succinct communications to leadership and across teams to ensure accountability and timeline management.
Process – Develop processes to ensure teamwork is streamlined to manage complexity and optimize velocity.
Agility – Lead with an agile first mindset while balancing urgency and prioritizations

What you need to have :
5+ years recent working experience as a Technical Program Manager or a similar role at a technology company
You have a love for Data and understand the power behind it
Strong understanding of a data platform, data ingestion, data lake, ETL processing, orchestration, and visualization tools such as PowerBI
Has driven adoption of data platforms and the technologies / concepts behind it
Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across organizations, bridge gaps between teams, and successfully influence without authority.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate to both non-technical and technical people with confidence, clarity, and focus.
Experience in large-scale distributed systems. You understand and can speak to system architecture, scalability, DevOps, CI/CD, and most importantly data.
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. You are a self motivated starter that loves to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details to understand in order to drive your programs to excellence with minimum supervision.
Additional things that would make you a superstar :
Experience with data platform tools / services such as DataBricks, EMR, S3, AWS data services, Collibra, Alation, MDM tools, Snowflake
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience, additional years of experience can be used in lieu of degree
Experience working in a startup environment
Experience managing programs with remote/distributed teams
Experience with Platform Security
Experience in Software Engineering, Software Infrastructure Engineering, Security, Big Data and Analytics, or Cloud Networking
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Education:
High School Diploma ( Prefer Bachelors)

Expected salary range:
$117,600.00 – $200,100.00
