About Us
We’re part of the Healthcare Holdings Group of companies and are New Zealand’s largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres (and growing!) across 3 sites. Our surgical specialties include: Orthopaedic/Spinal, Colorectal/Gastro, Gynae, Urology, Neurology, Oncology, Plastics, ENT/ORL, Head& Neck, and Cardiac/Vascular. Our patients are both adults and children.
The Role
Reporting to our awesome Theatre Manager at Ascot (who is herself an AT); you’ll be the operational go-to person and clinical expert who will lead and support the AT and RNAA team at Ascot Hospital. You’ll be responsible for all staffing matters including rostering, allocating staff, pre planning, budgeting, recruitment and performance management. You’ll collaborate closely with Charge Nurse Managers, Bookings Dept, Anaesthetists, and your direct colleague over at Mercy Hospital. You’ll belong to the Anaesthetic Auxiliary Group, and always strive for Quality Improvement. Plus we’re a teaching hospital so you’ll also keep an eye on the AT students we receive on clinical placements.
The Person
You’ll be an Anaesthetic Technician or an RNAA, or you could be an ODP looking for a move to beautiful NZ? But as a credible people leader, you lead by example and you’re passionate about building positive and supportive team environments where open communication and respect is highly valued. To do this you must have exceptional communication and relationship building skills along with the ability to think on your feet and make effective decisions. You’re well known for your professional maturity, agility, and ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team. You have strong judgement with great clinical reasoning, logical problem solving skills, with your commitment to quality and safety always at the forefront.
