Mesquite Generation Management Company LLC Hiring for Control Room Operator at Cedar Creek, TX Full Time

Mesquite Generation Management Company LLC specializes in the management and optimization of power generation facilities, supporting the ERCOT market. Current facilities include two natural gas plants and one coal fired power plant and one coal mine. Eligible candidates must be vaccinated against COVID.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Control Room Operator to work at the Bastrop Energy Center, a combined cycle natural gas power plant located in Cedar Creek, Texas. This position is responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems on a continuous basis. The CRO responds to alarms by taking appropriate corrections actions and executes plant shut-down and start-up procedures as required. The CRO assures that the plant meets it generating requirements while operating in a safe and efficient manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• From the Control Room, operates the plant in a safe, reliable and efficient manner to meet production schedules.
• Provides direction to the Auxiliary Operator to affect changes in plant conditions and chemistry.
• Operates the plant to technical specifications
• Responds to all normal and emergency conditions of plant operations.
• From the Control Room, performs Start-ups and Shut-Downs of all plant equipment including the Combustion Turbine/Generators, HRSGs and Steam Turbines/Generators.
• Monitors the security of the plant.
• Monitors plant performance to identify, taking necessary actions to prevent equipment failures.
• Prepares Permit to Work and other safety permits and acquired appropriate approvals.
• Maintains accurate records of plan operation and clearly communicated to on-coming shift, plant management and EMG.
• Understands and follows plant procedures.
• Is proactive in all activities to insure personal safety, as well as the safety of all fellow employees and contractors.
• Understands and follows all safe work practices

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5-years in powerplant or similar facility
• Successfully complete both Production Technician I & II qualifications.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel,) is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $38.00 per hour
