Summary:
Meta is looking for a creative and self-motivated Brand Communications Manager to join a growing team of brand building experts that support a variety of top tier company initiatives, including high profile consumer-facing campaigns, big bet product launches and supporting the priorities of our CMO. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to be the bridge across marketing and communications, with focus on the Meta company brand and family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. From planning and strategy to creative and measurement, the person in this role will be empowered to create programs that not only solve business challenges and reach a variety of stakeholders, but also capture press and customer attention. The ideal candidate is able to work collaboratively across teams, has a proven track record planning and executing communications campaigns informed by data and insights that drive measurable results. This candidate will also demonstrate strong judgement, attention to detail, and an interest in building relationships with press, creators and influencers. The candidate should have proven experience in landing earned coverage across traditional, new and unexpected consumer, business and industry press and media channels. This candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent writing skills, and enjoy navigating complex (and sometimes ambiguous) projects. They will love emerging culture, be a curious early adopter of new technologies, and continuously think of fun and strategic new ways to reach people where they are. The candidate will display flexibility and empathy in fast-moving situations and become a trusted partner with a number of internal teams, including the consumer marketing organization. The ideal candidate will also have enthusiasm for using Meta’s family of technologies.
Required Skills:
Own planning and execution for several priority initiatives and moments, resulting in measurable earned media impact and coverage.
Develop and maintain close relationships with consumer media, influencers, creators and partners.
Continually bring new creative and strategic approaches that will optimize programs.
Lead the development of all related internal and external materials required for program activation.
Demonstrate good judgement in escalating problems and assessing communication risk.
Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholder teams and agency partners.
20 percent travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field
10+ years work experience in brand/consumer communications, journalism, integrated marketing or related field
Experience with high profile campaign and/or product launches
Preferred Qualifications:
Agency and/or in-house experience
Experience in consumer technology or consumer products and brands
Experience working with internal cross-functional partners, demonstrating an experience integrating elements from these organizations and partners into effective communications plans
Experience developing a creative communications campaigns that result in measurable impact
