About The Role

We are looking for a high performing Project Manager, to, ensure the key strategic projects are delivered consistently to the required Metlifecare time, budget and quality standards.

Some Of The Responsibilities For This Role Include

• Drive and deliver key development activity outcomes on projects.
• Management of tender, tender evaluation, contract compilation and contractor selection process.
• Manage project risks through proactive identification and mitigation – no surprises approach.
• Ensure construction aligns with Metlifecare design standards and documentation and defects are dealt with in a timely manner.
• Provide support to team and relevant stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Assist in the implementation of innovative construction methodologies to ensure continuous improvement in the way we deliver our projects.
• Support to secure all required building consents and statutory approvals.
• Manage consultant team, construction companies and any other stakeholder involved in the delivery of the project.
• Chair and minute all contractor related meetings.
• Ensure collaborative work with the design team to ensure cost effectiveness and buildability issues are planned and implemented at the highest standard.
• Manage project completion including close out of all defects and handover to operations
• Undertake any special projects or assignments as required by management to ensure the effective financial integrity and strategic expectations of Metlifecare are met.
• Ensure project expenditure is controlled and within agreed budget.
• Communicate potential issues on a timely basis to the relevant parties/ managers to produce accurate financial reports.
• Assessment and sign off of monthly contractor / consultant claims

About You

You’ll have commercial property development / project management experience and will hit the ground running with drive and direction. Things that will support your application:

• Construction Management or Project Management experience with residential or commercial construction. Experience within the retirement industry is highly beneficial. This includes experience with writing programmes, review of Contractor’s programmes and reporting on the same.
• A degree qualification in Property, Architecture, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline or a trade qualification with main contractor experience.
• Detailed understanding of regulatory framework around project development including the RMA, NZ Building Act, Construction Contracts Act and NZ Building code.
• Involvement in master planning and experience with managing design processes in accordance with NZCIC guidelines.
• Demonstrable experience in achieving resource consent, building consent and Code Compliance Certificates for medium to large scale projects.
• Demonstrable experience procuring and managing construction for medium to large scale projects.
