Job Title: Typist – HOLMES
Salary: £23,903 to £25,835 plus a Location allowance of £1,639. You will receive £23,903 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £25,835 will be via incremental progression.

Fighting crime and protecting London generates a huge amount of work behind the scenes. Locally Delivered Support Services (LDSS) – provides expert support. As a typist on the homicide command you will provide essential support in assisting with the preparation of papers for court cases as well as other important documents. You will be working as one of two typists within a busy Homicide team within Specialist Crime. You will be part of team within a busy working environment, supporting the unit in the investigation and detection of the most serious of crimes.
This is an opportunity to directly support officers in the prosecution of offenders, by preparing key evidence for court. The work will be mainly audio typing, with some copy typing. Some work may contain unpleasant details of offences, and information of a highly confidential nature. Further vetting or psychological screening may be required, depending on the nature of the work performed.
With staff and officers depending on you, high standards are crucial. Teamwork will also be essential, along with flexibility and resilience. The key is to take pride in your work and deliver fantastic customer service.
Services are covered between 07:00-18:00 and staff are expected to work within these times. This is not a 12 hour shift, and does not attract a shift disturbance allowance.
