Position Summary
The Office of the Registrar is seeking an individual interested in combining systems management and student success. This Business Analyst role focuses on the continued implementation and improvement of Registrar functions found within MSU’s Student Information System (SIS), Campus Solutions . Successful Business Analysts are curious , proactive, and team oriented . They frequently utilize project management, communication, and documentation skills .
Business Analysts provide support to team members within and outside the Office of the Registrar, including University project teams focused on Campus Solutions ; establish and develop relationships with stakeholders to maximize the potential benefits of process improvements and technology solutions; communicate and generate feedback from stakeholders about implementation of business functionality, and use the feedback to deliver improved services.
The successful candidate will be able to support internal, cross-unit and institutional-wide initiatives; demonstrate project management experience by managing requirements throughout the project life-cycle; develop and document processes and procedures; translate high-level visions into detailed level information and vice versa; present and discuss functional and technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding; evaluate the effectiveness of specific functional operations, and recommend organization changes; and serve as a resource person and/or recommend solutions to specific problems for administrators and university offices across the campus.

The Office of the Registrar is an academic support unit reporting to the Associate Provost of Enrollment and Academic Strategic Planning. The department serves as the steward of student data . The office is committed to enhancing a culture of high performance and improving the student experience.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business, Information Systems, or related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive experience in a unit or college-level or central office working in the supported programs area of research administration and/or one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive experience working as a business analyst.
Desired Qualifications
An earned advanced degree, knowledge of Campus Solutions; demonstrated strong analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills; research skills to gather and analyze the necessary information to make recommendations; proficiency developing efficient and effective solutions to business or IT problems; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines; and ability to work with staff at all levels of the University.
