Prevention Coordinator
Position Summary
The Climate and Response Specialist is an experienced professional with extended knowledge on sexual and relationship violence, general knowledge of Violence Against Women Act, Clery Act and Title IX. This position reports directly to the Climate and Response Program Administrator and is part of a team that assists in creating a university network of programs for all employees and students. It also has a specialized focus of responding and coordinating trainings, supports and evaluations in response to RVSM climate concerns or requests and will be responsible for the following duties:
Remain up-to-date on research, policy and best practices related to sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking Work collaboratively with university and community partners
Represent POE in response to requests from other departments and community partners
Facilitate trainings, workshops and other presentations as needed
Assist with intake and referral system for engaging services
Work with Academic Advancement Network, Academic Human Resources and Human Resources to develop strategies and trainings for the university community Hold and organize listening/feedback sessions to assist in development of recommendations for programs/interventions based on themes identified
Engage with satellite offices and units to enhance services
Utilizing assessment tools to continually improve programming
Other duties as assigned
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Educational Theory and Methodology and/or a specialization in the designated area of expertise; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web-based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in supervision, database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and web site development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Preferred Masters degree in social work, public health, student affairs, psychology, sociology or related field; Experience in working with organizations that deliver prevention services or education about sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking; Knowledge of relevant federal policies, including Title IX and Clery Act; Solid understanding of diversity, general social justice issues, and intersectionality; Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion, sensitivity, and neutrality; Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations; Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
