Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to program objectives.

• Develop program assessment methods for evaluation and improvement.

• Maintain a high-level of satisfaction, quality, and performance

• Managing the flow of communications and information through dedicated processes and systems will be crucial. The Alumni Ventures Specialist Manager will develop many of these processes and systems, respectively.

• Maintain and continuously expand upon a network of functional practitioners, consultants, alumni, investors, and others who are beneficial to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Develop goals and processes to achieve network expansion.

• Field various inquiries from Alumni entrepreneurs. Often, inquiries will be unique, and the development of a novel response may be required.

• Evaluate and assess Alumni Venture Support Program to enable continuous improvement and evaluation.

• Stay current with entrepreneurship trends at the university, in the region and state, and trending innovation topics.

• Stay connected with student entrepreneurs who plan to continue developing their idea/startup beyond graduation.

• Monitor and oversee projects related to the Burgess Alumni Venture Support Program in some cases, work through others to reach a successful outcome.

• Utilize and maintain project-tracking software individually and as part of a team.

• Ability to travel at least 10%.

• Must be able to work at a computer for long periods

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years of related experience in working with startups and/or early stage companies.

• Master’s degree preferred with at least 3-5 years of professional experience in related areas.
