Microsoft Corporation Hiring for Principal PM Manager at Redmond, Washington Full Time

The Commercial Marketplace Services (CMS) team in the Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) group is looking for a high-energy and experienced Principal PM Manager to directly lead a group of Program Managers specialized in assisting industry-leading Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to onboard transactable offers on Microsoft Commercial Marketplace through our Consult Desk function. This role will also develop actionable insights to help mature marketplace capabilities.

You will work in close coordination across the CMS team, whilst cross teaming with Marketplace engineering, and Partner Center stakeholders for scale and success. You will play a key role managing part of our team as they assist partners as they onboard solutions to the Microsoft Commercial Marketplace.

This role has extensive cross-company links, working closely with engineering teams across the Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) team, the Global Partner Services team, and the marketing organization, and also involves a significant amount of exposure to senior management, requiring the ability to communicate concisely and consistently.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Lead the Consult Desk Team within CMS, including all people manager responsibilities

• Demonstrate the Microsoft Leadership Principles: Generate Energy, Create Clarity, Deliver Success

• Embody the Microsoft manager expectations: Model Coach Care

• Orchestrate the nomination, triage and consultation pipeline of the team, monitoring throughput, quality and portfolio health

• Analyze partner pain points related to Marketplace and develop projects for short, medium, and long term improvements.

• Analyze onboarding cycle dynamics and experiment with improvements.

• Monitor and contribute to projects and programs related to improving the partner onboarding experience.

• Support the identification and definition of new functionality that would accelerate solution integration into marketplace

• Consult with key partners and advise marketplace decision makers to influence product roadmaps.

Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, from developers to executives

• Ability to consume, analyze and organize disparate data to understand a process, derive insights, discern trends and project possible future scenarios.

• Experience in public speaking, technical writing, and social media preferred

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of experience as a people manager

• 5+ years of experience in project or program management.

• Previous experience in similar leadership role with program and project management background.

• BA/BS degree in relevant area (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management) or equivalent experience
