Microsoft Corporation Hiring for Principal Product Manager at Redmond, Washington Full Time

Do you want to be part of the most exciting new product in the industry? Microsoft Copilot needs a Principal Product Manger for Search to help us change the way people work. You will build and improve a core AI/ML component of the Search stack that powers the Microsoft Copilot for enterprise customers. You will lead a team of talented, driven Product Mangers, working closely with data scientists and engineers to train, evaluate, and ship improvements to the core Copilot engine.

Responsibilities

As A Principal Product Manager of one of the core AI/ML components of the Search stack of Microsoft Copilot, you will analyze the performance of the system from the customer’s point of view, work with your colleagues to come up with innovative techniques to improve it, manage a complex prioritization framework to determine which ideas to try, then run the ideas through a multi-stage evaluation framework, and finally ship improvements that affect the daily work of millions of customers.

You will work closely with your team of Product Managers, your peers in Software Development and Data Science, and others across the company to deliver success for Microsoft customers. You will manage, coach, and care for your team members and help them learn and grow as Product Managers.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

• OR equivalent experience.

• 4+ years people management experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working on search/information retrieval systems

• 2+ years of experience working training/evaluating AI/ML systems as Product Manager, Software Developer, or Data Scientist

• Ability to align business strategy and technical strategy for the given product area

• Experienced delivering results through collaboration across disciplines, time zones, feature teams, and partners

• Able to self-learn, enter new domains, manae through uncertainty in an agile environment

• Ability to bring AI/ML systems to life by translating the relationship of the AL/ML component to user behavior and user impact

• Ability to identify technical and business problems, propose solutions, and collaborate across teams to deliver success

• Have a good understanding and ability to define metrics that represent success for the customer or business, can evaluate feature impact and inform next steps

• Customer empathy combined with data insights always learning, and refining features to deliver maximum business impact

• Familiarity with statistical concepts e.g. statistical significance and P-values

Product Management M5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 – $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 – $282,200 per year.
