The Commerce Engineering Operation group in Commerce + Ecosystems focuses on delivering high quality customer and partner experiences and exceptional business outcomes through Microsoft’s commerce systems, today and in the digitally transformed future. We do this by:
Designing, innovating, automating, and sustaining scalable end-to-end operational solutions
Collaborating with business teams to help our internal partners sell products and services, and our customers buy them, in a secure, frictionless manner
Building and delivering impactful services and tools that are compliant by design, flexible, configurable with fast feedback loops
Executing with operational excellence in all we do
Responsibilities
Risk Management services provide anti-fraud protection for Azure, Office, Xbox, Ads and other Microsoft online businesses to ensure legit customers can come in enjoy the services smoothly with minimum friction while impacts from fraudsters are minimized. Our services make decisions with ML models in split seconds in huge scale, run near-real-time / offline scans to catch missed fraud, provide sophisticated tooling to enable human fraud experts investigating suspicious cases, and operate data solutions to empower other data-driven anti-fraud innovations.
We are looking for a driven and collaborative engineering manager to build and lead a full stack, versatile team which will bring our current Risk Management engineering services to the next level. As an engineering manager of the team, you will be expected to partner closely with your counterparts of program managers, fraud experts, data scientists, and other engineering teams owning up-stream / down-stream engineering services to understand the business opportunities in the Risk Management space, build extensible architecture, launch high quality products delivering impact for our business, and ultimately protect our legit users from the impact of malicious actors.
You will leverage your leadership to support your team in design, implementation and release of the new experiences you create. As an engineering manager you will be expected to create a healthy and empowered team by modeling, caring and coaching. You will be expected to invest deeply in the career growth and development of engineers on your team.
Qualifications
Required
Computer Science Degree (or similar)
10+ years software development experience (or similar) for online services at large scale
5+ years of people manager experience leading teams
3+ years of hands on programming experience in C#, .Net, Azure, HTML/CSS/JS
Preferred
Experience of leading multiple software projects from ideation to delivery, across multiple teams and technology areas
Proven track record architecting and developing robust and extensible solutions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience of working with globally distributed team
Strong sense of curiosity and a willingness to learn, share, and improve
Preferred qualifications
Experience with public cloud services, such as Azure, AWS, GCP
Experience with big data processing
Experience with large scale eCommerce Risk Management
