As a progressive student-centred College, we are now looking for a Technician in our Higher Education and Adult & Professional Provision.

Details of the role

The successful candidate will have responsibility for supervising, training, and assessing students during practical sessions and assessments. You will report on progress, exercise good and safe workshop practise in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and legislation. You will also be taking responsibility for the safe management of materials, chemicals, tools, equipment, and instrumentation within the workshop environment(s), to ensure the delivery of high-quality practical sessions which fully comply with relevant Health and Safety legislation and best practice.

This is a full time position for 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Job Requirements

You will have a relevant Assessor qualification, Health and Safety qualification and a First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards these.

You will be educated to a good standard with GCSE passes in English and maths or equivalent standard qualification. Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject or have good industry experience. A teaching qualification, such as Diploma in Education or other would be an advantage.
