- Assist new employees in enrolling in applicable benefits
- Update the benefit system based on updates to “hard caps” and employee adjustments
- Oversee annual open enrollment process
- Oversee HSA, including compliance and enrollment
- Oversee 1094/1095C processing
- Collect and process new hire paperwork and enter information into the HRS system
- Coordinate and monitor employee leaves of absence. Keep track of timelines for sending/receipt of documentation from staff and medical providers in accordance with FMLA
- Assist employees and ensure compliance in regard to COBRA provisions
- Serve as point of contact for employee leave and facilitate communication of leaves between employees, Personnel, Payroll, and Buildings/Supervisors
- Keep informed on FMLA and individual leave provisions detailed in employee bargaining agreements
- Monitor unemployment claims and provide information as needed to third party consulting firm
- Oversee workers’ compensation claims
- Collect and process necessary information pertaining to workers’ compensation claims
- Serve as point of contact between claims adjusters and employee
- Ensure posting of required documents in each building (Department of Labor Posters on minimum wage law, FMLA rights and responsibilities, workers’ compensation, OSHA/MIOSHA, Michigan Whistleblower’s Protection…)
- Monitor Teacher Professional Development attendance
- Monitor certification/qualification requirements for applicable staff
- Maintain detailed staffing records and employee lists
- Maintain personnel and related files
- Complete REP and other required reports
- Complete and issue Personnel Assignments to all staff
- Other duties as assigned

Kearsley Community Schools is seeking a Personnel Secretary
Salary and Benefits: $19.63 – $ 23.97 hourly range, eligible for health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance on the 1st day of the following month from hire date. 3 ½ floating holidays, 3 personal days, 9 sick days, 12 paid holidays and 10 paid vacation days.
Schedule: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks per year.
