Senior Accountant

Objective

We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting of our monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare monthly trial balance reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

• Post journal entries.

• Assist with the monthly close process.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Act as liaison with external audits

• Prepare reports for a multi-company environment on regular, special, and as needed basis.

• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

  Competencies

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Products

• Minimum 5 years of business experience with emphasis on day to day accounting functions

• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP

• Must be reliable and dependable.

• Ability to exercise independent direction and judgement, and work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent critical thinking skills

• Experience in a multi-company environment preferred.

• Ability to successfully complete tasks that require high attention to detail, with minimal supervision.

• Accounting activities including financial reporting and year end audit preparation.

  Reporting Relationship

  This position reports to the Chief Accounting Officer

  Work Environment

  This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft.

  Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  This is an exempt position.

  Travel

  No travel is expected for this position.

  Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s in accounting

• 5 years of business accounting experience

  Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

• Experience with a large automated accounting system a plus.

• Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.

• Ability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends

• Ability to pass a background check

• Zero tolerance drug free company
