In this role you will be asked to develop creative solutions and designs and produce high-quality print and digital products that meet the needs of the Ministry and protect its brands.

Mōu – About You
We are looking for a skilled graphic design professional to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. The successful candidate will be proactive, has sound judgement, and has experience building strong relationships with a variety of different people from different backgrounds. As this is a fast-paced role, you must have the ability to manage multiple changing priorities and thrive under pressure. You will have both a strategic focus and an eye for detail.
You will be a high-energy people person able to collaborate and build effective working relationships and networks with internal and external teams and agencies to help deliver successful graphic designs. Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori design is desirable.
You will need the following skills and experience to be successful:

The small Design team is supportive and friendly. You will be able to learn from your colleagues’ extensive experience and longevity within MPI, and they will appreciate your fresh perspective and ideas. The team works across the whole organisation and there is a lot of variety in what they do, providing design services for biosecurity, agriculture, fisheries, forestry and food. The team are keen to include Māori design as a strength of the team in the future.
