The Communications Adviser supports the development of both internal and external facing communications for the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme. They work with the Programme Director and wider programme teams to ensure consistency and a joined-up communications approach across the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme workstreams and Te Poutāhū (Curriculum Centre) business units.

You will be a motivated individual with a passion for communicating, and an eye for detail. You will have excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to adapt content and tone to suit your audience and channel.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.

Te Poutāhū provides strengthened and inclusive curriculum leadership, expertise and partnership for The New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Whāriki, as well as providing expertise and resources for quality teaching.
We bring together curriculum, teaching expertise and evidence for the development, support and review of inclusive curricula, assessment and NCEA. Our strengths are across te reo Māori, mātauranga Māori, disability, inclusive learning support and culturally relevant content so that Te Mahau supports learning that is inclusive for all ākonga.
