About Us:
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America’s largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.
The Security Enquiries Unit delivers a professional service to our stakeholders by providing timely, current, credible and accurate information, regarding an applicant’s personal history, allowing stakeholders to make an informed decision about the applicant that will have a positive impact on public safety and security.
The unit conducts police record checks for many different clients including other Ministries, arms length government agencies and law enforcement agencies.
The unit has an investigative compliment that conduct in depth security clearance investigations. The investigations include searches of various databanks such as CPIC, NICHE, Police Information Portal, Local Police records, Immigration, Equifax and Internet searches. The investigations are completed for all new recruit applicants and civilian employees of the OPP, Contractors, Justice Technology Systems employees, and High Level Government appointments.

What can I expect to do in this role?
To plan, manage, and coordinate a program or service operation within a key ministry program area, and to provide leadership and supervision to a team of specialists in delivering programs and services.
To develop and recommend evidence-based program or service delivery options, and best operational practices and standards, to better achieve ministry program objectives.

At this time, all employees working in congregate living settings are required to provide proof they are fully vaccinated, meaning they are fully vaccinated as defined by the Ministry of Health (refer to:COVID-19 Fully Vaccinated Status in Ontario, including 14 calendar days have passed since receiving their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Employees who do not provide proof of full vaccination will be deemed ‘not vaccinated’ under the Employer’s policy and will be required to attend a vaccine education program, as determined by the Employer. Employees who are not vaccinated under the policy with a valid medical exemption will not be required to attend a vaccine education program. All employees working in congregate living settings must undergo regular rapid antigen testing, regardless of vaccination status.
