Minor International Hiring for Senior Software Engineer – Open Banking Job at Sydney, Australia Full Time

ROLE PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Senior Software Engineer is to architect, design and create quality, scalable, robust backend solutions in close collaboration with the broader engineering and product teams. Reporting to the Backend Engineering Manager, success in this role will be defined as developing and maintaining API driven features to enhance and scale our backend platforms, particularly but not restricted to, CDR capabilities as defined by the CDR standards and rules.

Job Description

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Stay on top of Open Banking and CDR maintenance releases

• Architect and design new solutions based on CDR enhancements that are occurring
• Understand CDR Standards and Rules to support the engineering and oter teams
• Architecture and CDR technical support for Clients
• Support the Sales team with CDR solutions and client conversations

Develop Ruby on Rails applications

• Architect and design new solutions
• Build and maintain new features and functionality
• Create scalable and testable code
• Ensure well documented, understandable code

Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to scope and deliver features

• Working closely with the product team to refine user experience of new functionality
• Work with the mobile engineer team to design APIs to support frontend features
• Enhance products with your own ideas and input

Maintain and troubleshoot existing products

• Troubleshoot issues and bugs on existing products (requires a focus on CDR products)
• Ensure code coverage, unit testing and UI automation are present in all our products
• Ironclad approach to security and keeping our apps bank level secure

Support clients’ technical integrations

• Help onboard clients’ development teams to utilise our APIs
• Provide technical support for integrating our products

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 6+ years experience of developing backend systems
• CDR Open Banking experience
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Ruby, Python, Java or PHP.
• Experience in database design and SQL query performance optimisation
• Experience working in a product focused creative environment
• An excellent work ethic and can-do attitude
• Attention to detail.
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable and efficient code
• A talent for communicating ideas, issues and solutions in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow outside of the office
• Keen interest in learning new programming languages and frameworks
• Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring and code standards)

Additional Information

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• Ruby on Rails development experience
• Frontend web development skills
• Security or penetration testing experience
• Experience with AWS
