Nova Systems Geospatial is a multidisciplinary team of Software Developers, Designers, DevOps Specialists and Geospatial Consultants with a proven track record of building and supplying innovative, high value enterprise spatially enabled software and data solutions. The Geospatial team leads the development of software and geospatial solutions and the provision of geospatial products at Nova Systems. About the role:

As a Senior Software Engineer in our Geospatial Solutions team, you will have the opportunity to lead the design and development of a variety of exciting software projects, including web and geospatial applications, backend data processing and analytics frameworks, cloud dev-ops platforms, and mobile applications. You can expect to engage with a range of clients across a number of industry sectors including emergency services, land management and defence.

What will you be involved in:

• Working within a talented and motivated multidisciplinary team, with a focus on building high quality software solutions and products.
• Implementing solutions using contemporary technologies, frameworks and approaches – e.g., React, AWS, Serverless, Infrastructure as Code.
• Leading architecture development, technical solution design and driving coding standards.
• Delivering a broad range of exciting projects in the geospatial domain.
• Estimating the scope and time required to deliver projects.
• Contributing to the overall technical direction of the team.

What we would like from you:

• Strong architectural pattern knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience in web development technologies and techniques.
• Demonstrated skills in modern software engineering methods, such as object orientation, API development, test driven development and continuous delivery.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps approaches such as containerisation and infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrated skills with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud computing, specifically AWS and/or Azure Services and associated processes, systems and integration.
• Comfortable in a customer facing role.
• A passion for working in a team environment, and a desire to learn new skills and share your knowledge.
• Experience with ESRI and Open-Source geospatial platforms highly regarded.
