Mitre 10 (New Zealand) Limited Looking for Team Member – Gardens (full-time) Mitre 10 MEGA New Lynn at Waitakere West, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

We are seeking a customer focused Team Member with a green thumb to join our Mitre 10 MEGA New Lynn Garden Department. Your gardening passion may come from time in your own back-yard or you may have undertaken horticultural training – either way you will enjoy helping our customers select the right plants, along with all the dry goods and hardware, whether it’s fertilizers and pest control or gardening gloves and a wheel barrow.

Ideally you will be experienced with the sale of both green and dry garden goods, although applicants with a proven retail background and who are eager to learn will be considered. If you have the ability to engage with our customers and work through their DIY or large scale projects with them efficiently, then we would love to hear from you!

Initial Available Roster/s

• Sunday – Thursday (37.5 hours per week)
• Tuesday – Saturday (37.5 hours per week)

For this position we are looking for someone who has:

• Any appropriately related experience working within the green goods, garden care, garden hardware or garden power tool departments including outdoor tools and chemicals – Landscape or Garden experience is beneficial
• A good level of physical fitness is required as heavy lifting is part of this role
• Dedicated to providing an excellent customer service experience to our customer
• Willingness to share your passion for gardening with others
• Good time management skills
• Enthusiasm, team spirit and a willingness to learn and further develop
• There is sometimes a need to move soils and other heavy products and so forklifting experience would be advantageous.
• Able to work at least one weekend day

We also operate our four Columbus Coffee shops within our MEGA stores. We deliver Prenail Frame and Truss solutions through Riviera Pre-nail and manage our own importing via Riviera Imports. In addition, we are opening a new Mitre 10 MEGA store in 2023.
